Mobile Cement Lining Plant

Pipe Lining & Coating have delivered cement mortar lined steel pipes from our facility in Rutherford over the past 18 years. During this time some of our major clients have expressed an interest for the availability of on- site lining for pipeline projects to improve the scope and options for material supply and eliminate the transport, storage and handling issues sometimes associated with cement mortar lined pipes, especially to remote regions.

These on-going enquiries led Pipe Lining & Coating to evaluate and develop a mobile lining plant capable of being transported around Australia, this plant has added an extra resource to Pipe Lining & Coating's manufacturing capabilities and will continue to be used to satisfy our client's needs with minimal site preparation making for ease of commissioning/decommissioning and site rehabilitation whether within Australia or Internationally. This mobile cement lining plant can cement mortar line pipes ranging from 100NB to 2200NB.

Recent Project

The mobile plant has recently completed the cement mortar lining for the Sydney Desalination Project twin 1400NB Botany Bay Submarine Pipelines.

The project involved lining 14,742 metres of 1422mm OD x 17.5mm Wt pipe and enabled Pipe Lining & Coating to design and commission our first high production mobile plant.

The plants performance allowed PLC to complete the project on schedule and with the project budget.

Quality Assurance Requirements

The most stringent QA requirements can be satisfied with the use of accurate batching parameter tolerances, the plant also generates batching records and inventory totals to satisfy AS1281-2001 and ISO 9001- 2008.

Environmental Impacts With the site location on the waterfront at Port Kembla, the environmental impact was a major factor in the design of this plant.Water recycling has been incorporated into the plant wash down system, providing PLC the option to reuse this water around the site for various applications including airborne dust control.

Solid waste was removed from site and delivered to concrete recyclers.

Plant Reliability and Reduced Downtime

The plant equipment including programmable logic control was chosen for ease of operation and reliability.

Our operators have been highly trained and in conjunction with a customised maintenance programme it has ensured efficient operation and longevity of the plant.
